Precursor to the ASSASSINS game.
Soo… After the movie night at my house, around 2:00 AM when everyone else left, Sheila, Jeremy, and I thought of bringing the ASSASSINS GAME to our group. More details will come when I get sleep. HAPPY NEW YEARS EVE!!!
Dec 31st
Awwwww :(
markvjavier: tiffanyjaane: immissingyou: ohitsmariel: A man came home from work late, tired and irritated, to find his  5-year old son waiting for him at the door.  SON:   “Daddy, may I ask you a question?”  DAD:   “Yeah sure, what is it?” replied the man.  SON:   “Daddy, how much do you make an hour?”  DAD:   “That’s none of your business. Why do you ask such a thing?”  the man said...

11: 11pmThomas
and then somehow my found myself smiling a huuge smile impulsively
11: 12pm LS
well there seemed to be no other way to express my current emotions
XD
11: 12pmThomas
that works too!
11: 12pm LS
then my mission is accomplished. you should smile all the time!
every day
24/7
OR ELSE >: D
11: 12pmThomas
ooooooo that would be creepy to be smiling at a stranger in the middle of a dark alley way
: |
just sayin
11: 13pm LS
and why are you walking in the middle of a dark alley way anyway?
11: 14pmThomas
cause i'm a lost soul that bewildered myself and was tantalized by the sweet sweet aroma of a distant profound odor
11: 14pmLS
and did you find what you were looking for?
11: 15pmThomas
well not exactly because on the way, I was tempted and bondaged by the temptations of the dark ruins to the immediate right of Walmart in American canyon
11: 16pmLS
you went to the ruins?! how were they? I've kinda been wanting to go explore there for a while haha
that one night when Jonathan and Jess and Jeremy and I went to the super Walmart, we were going to go there
but it was like two in the morning
and then my mom called me
to tell me how much trouble I was in XD
and to come home right away
but how were the ruins??
sorry for talking too much haha
please, continue.
11: 17pmThomas
I thought I was going to be scared the life out of me when I realized we were walking in the most abandoned ruins
But we hada sizable group
with Lance armed with his flashlight calling the shots
we marched in formation
there were times when our group was in dismay when a sense of fear took a hold
but for some reason, I was never afraid through out the trip
11: 18pmLS
: D
11: 18pmThomas
i don't know if it was bad or good
cause i know my limits
and i wasn't afraid to walk alone with no light into the deeper parts of the ruins
if it wasn't for jess and mariah telling me to stop, i would have walked in further alone..
we saw fresh footprints in the mud
clearly disposed cans and water bottles
meaning there were people there not long ago
11: 20pmLS
uh oh
drunk people?
possibly dangerous people?
11: 20pmThomas
we also found the house of demons where there was a cult ritual performed
11: 20pmLS
no way
11: 20pmThomas
we found a noose with a dead bird in that building
11: 20pmLS
I thought that was a joke?
O.O
that's creepy
11: 21pmThomas
there was evidence that burned out candles, a circle of chalk with a star in the middle,
black marks everyhwere
ashes all over the ceilings
and to make matters worse, it rained when we decided to power run back to our cars
mud engulfed our shoes
11: 22pmLS
oh no...
11: 23pmThomas
and lance (indirectly) showed me what it could be like to be behind enemy lines alone with soldiers scouting for the lone wolf
11: 23pmLS
O.O
lance and his war stories
11: 24pmThomas
lance has affected me too much
11: 24pmLS
XD
11: 24pmTB
but i see everything in tone with universalism....
it's sooo craazy1
11: 25pmLS
hmm like what?
universalism as in "we are all one"...or what?
or how all religions and philosophies seek to express the same basic truth?
11: 27pmTB
more in like everything is connected ordeal in everything has their own truth, everything has the abilitiy to express freedom
11: 27pmLS
hmm...was there some experience in particular that made you think everything is connected?
or is this just something you've started to think after observing life in general?
11: 31pmLS
and what do you mean by the ability to express freedom?
as in free will, making our own individual choices? or what?
11: 34pmTB
it's complicated to say, but for some reason it all makes sense in my head
http: //tommyblaze13.tumblr.com/page/14
11: 38pmLS
you know, I was just having a conversation about sin and morality and the Catholic Church earlier today
11: 38pmTB
mmm?
11: 40pmLS
well sort of. the conversation was also about love and marriage and divorce and premarital sex and why the Catholic Church believes what it does about those things.
XD
and then more generally about what it means to be a member of a religion
even if you sometimes disagree with what that religion has to say
11: 41pmTB
ooooo....
11: 41pmLS
or at least, disagree with some of the people who represent the religion on earth
11: 41pmTB
yes!
11: 41pmLS
because as we all know, human beings are flawed individuals
flawed individuals who make mistakes
and who can be wrong
besides, times change. human views on morality, or at least, what is socially acceptable, change with them
how can we say that the social norms of today should be applied universally to everyone, everywhere?
11: 44pmTB
social norms can't be applied universally
11: 44pmLS
exactly
but people seem to think that they can
11: 45pmTB
wow... that sounded just like what Lance told me a few days ago
11: 45pmLS
XD
why, what did Lance say?
11: 46pmTB
because as we all know, human beings are flawed individuals
flawed individuals who make mistakes
and who can be wrong
besides, times change. human views on morality, or at least, what is socially acceptable, change with them
humans are still humans
11: 46pmLS
XD
true that
11: 47pmTB
it also went to how humans, with the religions have changed over time
11: 47pmLS
like the whole equality thing for example
11: 47pmTB
in that the religion that was preached 2000+ years ago isn't the EXACT religion
yes!
11: 48pmLS
yeah exactly. like even in the first 300 years after the birth of Christianity it changed SO much
and some of our now "core" beliefs were formulated long after Jesus' birth and death
in fact, some "core beliefs" are still being debated and changed, even today
it's like, what gives? how can you expect us to unconditionally accept what you say when you change what you say all the time?
11: 50pmTB
i kept thinking too
If Judas, the ‘bad guy’ didn’t report Jesus to the high priests, Jesus wouldn’t have died. He would have faded into history. How will then people in the now present, past, and future believe in Christianity if Jesus didn’t influence so many lives?
11: 50pmLS
yes, it is a conundrum
brings up questions of fate and destiny and free will, doesn't it?
on the one hand, "it was all planned"
on the other, "we have the right to choose between good and evil"
so which is it? it can't be both
but really it's more like, how can Christianity be the one true religion if it was born through human error?
11: 52pmTB
“Catholicism thinks that they are the one and only religion that trully explains the truth and the full truth. But does that mean that the other hundreds of christian denominations are wrong? Does that mean the other hundreds of religions around the world are wrong? No, they are all right in the sense because religion was inspired by a higher being whether that be God, Jesus, Allah, Mohammed, Nirvana, but translated, religion is institutionalized by human beings.”
11: 52pmLS
or even just in general. how can Christianity be the one true religion? what about the people before? what about the people who believe in something else?
exactly
11: 53pmTB
: p you're reading my mind
11: 53pmLS
I can't bring myself to condemn every other point of view except my own
XD
I mean, how can I be so sure that what I believe is Truth? when there are so many other ways of interpreting Truth in the world?
for example, there are many aspects of Buddhism that I find attractive
is it wrong to believe in reincarnation?
[which I sort of do by the way]
11: 55pmTB
to Buddists, it isn't wrong, to Catholics, it may be
11: 56pmLS
that's what confuses me. it's so subjective. but it tries to be so objective.
11: 56pmTB
where religion takes a stand when people try to explain subjective phenomenon with objective reasoning
11: 57pmLS
hey! I like that quote
did you make that up
?
11: 57pmTB
yes master
11: 58pmLS
XD
11: 58pmTB
bwahahahahh
sorry
11: 58pmLS
not again with the master stuff
I AM NOT YOUR MASTERY
*MASTER
oops
XD
11: 58pmTB
oh i forgot forgot it was mistres master wasn't it???
11: 59pmLS
nope. it was neither.
no title please.
: P
but anyway...I guess part of the answer might be moving toward a more pluralistic mindset
the realization that you can be right and I can be right at the same time
Today
12: 00amLS
without contradicting each other
12: 02amTB
the truth, the "wholesome truth" is a lie because the real truth is interpreted in an infinite number of ways that the perceptions of each unique individual can alter that truth for their own beliefs
thus creating the infinite lie
wow i have no idea where i was going with that
my mind feels like jello
12: 03amLS
keep going
12: 04amTB
going with that concept into religion, each person that believes in that particular religion is hearing the "incomplete truth" because they did not hear the original pure religion with no edits, no reforms, and no corruption
with Catholicism, there's no way that 12 different people the Apostles will interpret Jesus' words in the exact same way
they each took their interpretations of jesus' truth, and crafted their own truths
yet their truths are lies because it's the incomplete trtuh
12: 06amLS
just because something is not the truth does not mean it is a lie
just incomplete truth
the world doesn't have to be so black and white
12: 07amTB
ack i didn't eman lie
12: 07amLS
XD
I'm just saying. haha
please, continue
12: 08amTB
taking it to the near-past
“God inspired the Magesterium, but God did not create the Bible. Humans created the Bible. The Pope, no matter how holy his grace may be, he is still only human and human influence is always flawed in some way shape, form, or identity.”
“God didn’t create rules, He gave guidelines. He gave the gift to think freely.”
to the present: “Is it a SIN to VOTE to give homosexual citizens the RIGHT to CHOOSE whether or not to have CIVIL marriage?”
prop 8
12: 10amLS
oh my gosh. Bishop Soto. don't remind me -__-
and no, I believe the answer is no
it's completely and absolutely not a sin.
at least, that's my opinion
12: 11amTB
Catholics were in the public back in the roman Caesar rule, expressing homosexuality openly
when the person in power controlled what the people as a whole believed in
the pope controlled the people's beliefs
12: 13amTB
and the pope, with the human flaw, crafted the catholic truth into his own incomplete truth
12: 13amLS
which is now, at least partially, accepted and taught as complete truth
one person should never have that much power
in fact, I'm not so sure anyone should be able to control or even influence anyone else
doesn't that infringe on our right to free will?
telling other people what to think? what to believe?
why can't we just all make up our own minds about everything? and just accept that everyone else's version of truth is going to be different from ours?
12: 16amTB
because the human flaw for conformity is the lie that humans try to explain with objectivism
12: 18amLS
for some reason humans want everyone to believe the same thing
we think everyone should be like us
because we tend to think that we are always right
12: 18amTB
with in turn will cause everyone to further differentiate from conformity
12: 19amLS
basically, my remedy for the world's problems is pluralism. haha
12: 19amTB
unconditional pluralism?
12: 20amLS
the key to world peace, and world harmony, is accepting differences without wanting to change them
well, I mean, there are a few caveats
for example, don't you believe in basic human rights?
12: 20amTB
ahhh yes
but for a great multitude of people, basic human rights don't exist
12: 22amLS
which is kind of the problem
but in order for pluralism to work, there has to be a basic set of rules or guidelines pertaining to human rights
otherwise we'd just be living in anarchy
think about it. some people believe, for example, that men have the right to subjugate women
if we truly accepted everyone else's beliefs without questioning, we'd say that they have the right to act that way, right?
12: 24amTB
Right.
12: 24amLS
but do you think that they do have the right to act that way?
12: 28amTB
"I may not believe in the same things that you believe in. I may not share the same values, the same religion, the same universal belief, but I do believe in this: I will defend your right to believe in what you believe in because your right is undeniable in the universal human belief for global freedom to act. The human gift to act. The human flaw."
mmm that's what i thought of
>.<
LS
so you have the freedom to act as long as you don't infringe on anyone else's freedom to act?
12: 31amTB
hmmmm i think that was where i was going...
12: 32amLS
for example, murder clearly takes away one's freedom to act
12: 34amLS
because if you're dead you obviously can't act at all
and slavery, clearly out of bounds
12: 34amTB
Truth.
12: 35amLS
hey let's make up our own religion!
XD
we can be the founders
12: 36amTB
: D
oooooooooo
how exciting!!
12: 37amLS
hmm what are we going to call it?
12: 39amTB
Universalist Unconditional Pluralism?
UUP?
eh too long
12: 39amLS
UP
just Universalist Pluralism
: D
it's not quite unconditional, right?
12: 40amTB
: D
riiight!
12: 40amLS
except for the one big guideline
but other than that, yeah
Universalist Pluralism. I like it.
UP for short!
12: 42amTB
awesome!
12: 42amLS
hey this is unrelated, but I actually wanted to ask you something

Walk With Me Dearly

I Have Never Been More Confused In MY Life
I have never been more confused in my life about my beliefs and my faith. Right at dinner when we were sitting at the table, I heard a girl in the table next to us singing “Open the Eyes of My Heart”. I couldn’t believe it. Overhearing that table’s conversations, I heard that they’re also part of a youth group somewhere in California. There are actual practicing Christians in this campus…? ...

How Guys Show Their LOVE.
markvjavier: ktab: Studies show that men don’t rely on words to convey emotion. Instead, a guy’s brain is task-oriented. He’s more likely to demonstrate his feeling via action.
